Wargrave Lawn Tennis Club has eight flood-lit courts – all tarmacadam. Four were resurfaced in August 2016 and all courts were cleaned and repainted. All courts have a programme of continuing maintenance, which together with full floodlighting, gives us some of the best playing facilities in the county. Play is possible all year round and up to 10 o'clock in the evening.
Ours is a members' club and we believe in treating all members alike, regardless of age, sex or ability. We make every effort to maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and our aim is to encourage the playing of tennis whatever your age or skill level. We want our members to feel it is their club.
The clubhouse was rebuilt in 2010 (our centenary year) and we now have toilets, changing rooms, a useful kitchen area with hot and cold drinks, as well as a large pleasant seating area inside and out for those watching or waiting to play. There is also a free public car park for the recreation ground where our club is situated.
The club has a licensed LTA coaching team which runs courses and fun events for adults/junior and squad sessions for team players. The coaching team also runs tennis camps for juniors (including non members) during school holidays.
The club has full LTA accreditation which includes an adult member who is especially responsible for children, young people and child protection.
We enter teams for both adults and juniors in the Berkshire Summer/Winter Leagues, and the LTA Berkshire Team Tennis. In the summer we also enter teams in the Berkshire Veterans Leagues.
Friendly matches against neighbouring clubs and social events are organised on a regular basis. Check out our great membership deals or contact one of the committee members. We welcome toddlers to dodderers, 4 year olds to 84 year olds. There really is something for everyone.
